In order to monitor over irrigation water use, to evaluate actual water and land productivity as well as based on it to develop recommendations on improving water use productivity within pilot canals 10 demonstration sites have been selected in the head, middle-point and tail of the canal: (fig. 1).

— private farm «Gadoyboev» under collective farm «Bakhoriston» (Gafurov district Sogd province) with total area 128 ha; - private farm «Sayed» under collective farm «Bobo Khamdamov» (Rasulov district) with total area 93,9 ha; - dekhkan farm «D-Khoz-21» under the former collective farm «Samatov» (Rasulov district) with total area 104 ha.
